Ted is a senior vice president and head of the postsecondary communications practice at Whiteboard Advisors, a strategy consulting, communications, and advocacy firm focused on K–12, higher education, and the future of learning and work. For nearly two decades, he has advised education leaders, policy experts, and journalists at the intersection of media, policy, and markets. A veteran higher education communicator, Ted has been behind many of the past decade’s most influential campaigns on behalf of institutions, advocacy groups, and social entrepreneurs.
His practice centers on advising education technology companies, social impact investors, and nonprofits, helping them harness brand narrative, earned media, public opinion research, and content creation to scale their impact and reach national audiences. Ted’s work reflects a lifelong commitment to advancing upward mobility through education, shaped by his family’s deep ties to academia.
He also serves as a board member and pro bono advisor to educational institutions and organizations nationally and in Washington, D.C., including Community Tax Aid, Harmony Public Charter School, THINK College, and the American Academy for Liberal Education. A native of central New York, Ted lives in Washington with his wife and their rescue dog, Zoey. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Kenyon College and is an alumnus of Northfield Mount Hermon School.
